Hats off to Elements

To celebrate the 2nd anniversary and the national day, Elements, one of the high-end shopping mall in Hong Kong invites the famous hat designer Philip Treacy to held an exhibition of hats - Hats off to Elements from September 29 to November 11, 2009. The concept of the exhibition is as below picture:

The exhibition showcases 35 most defining and classic designs which selected by Philip Treacy. Installation are contructed in different zones. with specially constructed catwalk screening fashion videos. And the installation are measured as 5 metres in height and 10 metres in diameter. Some of the hats are focusly introduced as well like Venetian Lace Wing hat and Shocking Pink Rosewell Hat which are the classic designs of Treacy for his friend, Isabella Blow.

Apart from the showcase of hat, number of drafts of designs are also exhibited.

I look around the exhibtion in Elements, I think it is so impressive. The giant hats attract me a lot. Besides, it is the first international exhibition of the well-known "master of art" Philip Treacy. And all those introduction and drafts can let people know more about the idea creating process and designing process of classic pieces. Overall, the whole event is a gimmick one. It definitely attracts fans of Philip Treacy, fans of hat and people who like fashion. And actually it do attractive to those normal shoppers as installation of the giant hats are really so hugh, you just can't avoid from looking at it.
