Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto in Hong Kong
Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto Wet LaunchYves Saint Laurent kept to their schedule and went ahead with their Manifesto Fall/Winter Collection street campaign in Hong Kong. In 8 September. 2008, Hundreds and hundreds of people lined-up to receive the black and white canvas tote bags emblazoned with the YSL logo despite the rain that was sprinkling down. The bag contained a copy of the Manifesto featuring Naomi Campaign in YSL’s fall collection. When the bags were all gone, YSL’s female ambassadors continued to hand-out the Manifesto all over Central.
We would say this campaign was a huge success judging from the long queues that formed in front of the YSL Alexandra House store and lines that quickly form at various spots where YSL ambassadors bearing the canvas bags took posts; outside of Marks and Spencer on Queen’s Road and across the road from Landmark, outside Citibank. YSL stores were getting calls at their store as soon as they opened from die-hard fans keen to find the location as to where the bags were going to be distributed. There were line-ups since 10am outside the YSL store for the launch at 12:30.
Background of Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto
Yves Saint Laurent launches Manifesto starring Christy Turlington Notching up its fifth iconic supermodel, Christy Turlington has been unveiled as the latest star for the Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto. Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the autumn/winter 2009/10 Manifesto will see Turlington pouting and posing in the new season collection. She joins Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer, who have all been glamorous poster girls of previous Manifestos.
The brainchild of creative director Stefano Pilati, the Manifesto aims to showcase the house’s design aesthetic to a wider audience. How? Well, this season, alongside the usual printed booklet, it will also debut its own special micro-site complete with archived Manifestos, shoot images and behind-the-scenes videos. Over half a million copies of the Manifesto will be distributed on the streets of London, Paris, Milan, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and, for the first time, Seoul. Furthermore, the first 2,000 passers by in each city will also receive theirs in a specially designed cotton tote bag designed by Pilati.
